Why Mama Mockingbird?

I'm sure a few of you are wondering why I chose the name "Mama Mockingbird" for my craft line and blog. Those of you who know me probably already know. "Mama" is because, well, I'm a mama. That's my job and I love it. "Mockingbird" is in honor of the little prince, whose real name is Atticus (like in the book To Kill a Mockinbird. It also is a reference to how children are like little mockingbirds. So that's it in a nutshell :)

So, you might also be thinking, "Why should I purchase crafts from Mama Mockingbird?" Of course, I have an answer for that too. The short answer is that I'm trying to raise money to have another baby. All of the profits from everything I sell is saved so that one day (hopefully in the near future!) we can expand our family. Infertility is expensive, people! As for the long answer, I'll have to tackle that one in another post ;)

Welcome to my blog!

Hello and welcome to Mama Mockingbird. First, an introduction. The short version - I'm Jeanna and I'm a wife, mom, and crafter.

The slightly longer verson - I've been married for almost 6 years to my high school sweetheart and I'm a stay-at-home mom to a handsome little prince (today is his 4th birthday. Happy Birthday little guy!).
The good - I love spending time with my family, taking vacations, reading, and of course crafting.
The bad - I like to waste time play on facebook, I need to lose a few lbs, and right now I'm super unorganized (but I'm working on it).
The ugly - I'm a total procrastinator and my house is always a mess.

This blog will most likely encompass the many facets of my life, from family stuff, to crafting, to whatever.
